fishing-soon to be 2weekends in a row.

Dear Margot,
I have decided to go fishing this weekend. I will be kind and bring my Mumy along. I hope she can remember how to cast a fly and will not injure any passers by or on lookers, which i am sure she will not do. I will probably lend her my 6wt because it is an easier rod to cast than my 4wt in the sense that is is faster and more forgiving, however, the drawback is that it needs a short and fast casting stroke for it to really shoot off line like a rocket, which is what i really like.

I have been thinking about rods lately and wonder if i should get the powell rod from Fred. It is a totally different rod from my Orvis. The Orvis is a dry fly and nymph rod for small streams where presentation is critical. The Powell on the other hand is like the Sage TCR meant for throwing long and not really for pillow soft presentations. However, i still think it is an absolutely beautiful rod. The deep blue finish is very stylish and the thread wraps are gorgeous.

I think I will have to think carefully about the Powell rod and have been thinking about it since last Saturday. I will probably cast it again this Saturday if Fred comes fishing with Albert, Mum and I. I am going to sleep now. GoOd NiGhT
